Like many Chinese companies venturing into the global market, ITG faced the daunting task of navigating unfamiliar territory, unsure of how to sidestep potential pitfalls or effectively prepare its pioneering team for upcoming challenges. Acknowledging these concerns, AMI delivered an immersive, scenario-based training in August 2023. This training, focusing on cross-cultural collaboration and high-performance team development, was custom-made for ITG, with 28 of its mid and senior leaders participating.

The training was structured into four concise modules. “International Strategy Development” taught market research, cross-border communication, and strategic planning through case studies. “International Strategy Implementation” used examples of successful business expansions to demonstrate operational execution and global problem-solving. “Team Problem Solving Skills Development” provided tools for managing multicultural teams and overcoming communication barriers. The final module, “Real-world Challenge Simulation,” offered an immersive TEAM FORGING experience, leveraging theories like the Johari Window, Elements of Trust, and the GRPI Model to enhance learning through gameplay.

Upon completion, participants reported significant benefits, highlighting their enhanced efficiency in international business contexts and improved practical skills for multicultural team collaboration.

”A very magical game. It allows colleagues from different departments and regions to uncover any communication issues, and helps leaders identify their blind spots. It teaches us to think from the perspective of overseas or different regional teams, enabling effective strategy formulation and execution.”
-Mr. Wangxiang, General Manager, Hainan ITG.

By providing such real-world challenge simulations, AMI aims to empower more participants to develop high-performance international teams, a key step in propelling more Chinese enterprises onto the global stage.
